Following is a list of endowments and scholarship funds held by the Faribault Campus Foundation. Students applying for scholarships do not need to list the scholarships for which they would like to be considered.
SCC Faribault Campus Foundation Scholarships 2007-08
1st United Bank Scholarships
1st United Bank in Faribault generously provides these scholarships for students enrolled in any program area.
Allina Medical Clinic— Faribault Scholarships
Allina Medical Clinic provides these scholarships for students with at least a 3.0 GPA in the Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing or Medical Lab Technician program.
Alltel Scholarships
A grant from Alltel provides five scholarships for students enrolled in any program.
American Association of University Women Scholarship
Made possible by a donation from the Faribault Branch of AAUW for a female student attending South Central College to receive an Associate of Arts degree.
C & S Vending Endowment Scholarship
This is the first scholarship awarded from the recently established C & S Vending Endowment. At least one scholarship will be awarded each year for a second year student with a 3.0 or higher GPA in any program.
Cannon Valley Clinic Scholarship
Made possible by a gift from Cannon Valley Clinic for a student with a 3.0 or higher GPA in the Practical Nursing or Medical Lab Technician programs.
Carlander Family Endowment Scholarships
The Carlander family established an endowment in 2004 to provide scholarships for students pursuing Accounting and Office Technology careers. The scholarships are renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
CHART Industries, Inc. Scholarships
A gift from CHART Industries in New Prague provides scholarships to students who will learn to weld while at SCC. Recipients must have a 3.25 GPA and exhibit potential to excel in the field.
Curt’s Truck & Diesel Service, Inc. Scholarship
This scholarship is made possible thanks to a donation from Curt’s Truck & Diesel Service in Owatonna for a student in Accounting.
Determined Student Scholarship
This scholarship, for a recent high school graduate who demonstrates a high level of determination to succeed, was made possible as a result of a gift from an anonymous donor. This scholarship is renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
District One Hospital Endowment Scholarship
The District One Hospital Endowment will provide at least one scholarship each year for students in the Registered Nursing program.
Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions Scholarship
Faribault Eagles #1460 Endowment Scholarship
This endowment fund was created with contributions from the Faribault Eagles charitable gambling proceeds. The scholarship is presented to a student enrolled in any program area.
Faribault Foods, Inc. Scholarships
Faribault Foods generously provides these scholarships for students studying for careers in Accounting and Office Technology.
Faribault Scholarship Foundation, Inc. Endowment Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in any program area with priority given to non-traditional students.
Faribault Senior High Alumni & Friends Scholarship
This scholarship, for a PSEO student from Faribault Senior High who is attending SCC fall semester, was made possible through contributions from employees at South Central College who are friends and alumni of FSHS.
Raymond J. Freund Endowment Scholarship
This endowment was established in 2004 in honor of Ray Freund, first director of the Faribault campus from1964-1977, through donations from Ray and many of his friends, family, SCC faculty and staff (retired and current) and former colleagues. The endowment will provide at least one scholarship each year for a new, non-traditional student in any program.
H. E. Westerman Lumber Co. Scholarship
Made possible through a gift from H.E. Westerman Lumber Company, for a student who resides in Montgomery or Lonsdale.
Hannah Lips Foundation Scholarships
These scholarships for students in the medical field are made possible due to a generous contribution from the Hannah Lips Foundation. The Hannah Lips Foundation began providing scholarships for students at SCC in 1981. With the awards presented today, students have received a total of $173,350 in scholarships since 1981.
HickoryTech Scholarships
Made possible by a grant from the Hickory Tech Foundation, these scholarships are for students in any program and are renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
John and Lucille Hoban Endowment Scholarships
The Hoban endowment was started in 1999 by John and Lucille Hoban and provides scholarships annually to students enrolled in any program.
Dr. Dick and Glenda Huston Endowment Scholarship
Established by Dr. Dick and Glenda Huston in 2004, to provide one scholarship annually for a Medical Laboratory Technician student who demonstrates willingness to work hard to succeed.
Hy-Vee Food Store Scholarship
Made possible by a gift from the Faribault Hy-Vee Food Store for students attending SCC to obtain an Associate of Arts degree.
I & S Engineers & Architects, Inc. Scholarship
Made possible through a gift from I & S Engineers & Architects for a student in pursuing an Associate of Arts degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA. The scholarship is renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
Grandpa Al Jasinski Family Endowment Scholarship
Made possible by the Jasinski family, this scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in Nursing.
Jeffrey Jasnoch Memorial Scholarships
The family of Jeffrey Jasnoch has generously provided two scholarships for carpentry students who are completing their first year and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. These scholarships are renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
Lions Club of Faribault Scholarship
The Lions Club generously provides second semester scholarships each year for high school seniors from Bethlehem Academy and Faribault High School.
MRG Tool & Die Scholarships
Made possible by MRG Tool & Die, scholarships are awarded to students entering the Computer Integrated Machining program based on GPA, financial need and potential.
Marathon Multimedia Endowment Scholarship
This endowment was established in 2003 by Marathon Multimedia in Faribault to provide scholarships for second year students in Registered Nursing or Office Technology.
Met-Con Companies Scholarship
A donation from Met-Con Companies provides three scholarships for students in the Carpentry program.
Jim Munson Endowment Scholarship
This endowment fund was started in 2004 by retired carpentry instructor Jim Munson and his wife, Sharon. SCC carpentry alumni and first year remodeling project homeowners generously added to the scholarship fund, and in late 2005 it reached endowment level. This scholarship is for a carpentry student who exhibits outstanding work ethic and good attendance.
NorAm/Minnegasco Foundation Scholarships
Made possible by a grant from the NorAm/Minnegasco Foundation; for students graduating from area high schools. These scholarships are renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
Glen Norgaard Endowment Scholarship
This endowment was established to honor retired carpentry instructor Glen Norgaard thanks to generous donations from carpentry alumni and Glen Norgaard. Each year at least one scholarship will be presented to a student in the carpentry program with a 3.0 GPA who demonstrates leadership.
R. E. Olson Memorial Fund Scholarship
This scholarship fund was established by retired SCC Director Don Olson with memorial contributions received in memory of his father, Rueben Olson, to provide scholarships for students in any program area.
Part-Time Student Scholarships
Donations received from SCC employees and members of the Faribault Flyers Bike Club last fall made these scholarships possible. MnSCU Trustee Emeritus Robert Erickson made his annual trek by bicycle (2300 miles to all 53 MnSCU campuses), and some SCC staff and Bike Club members rode from Faribault to the North Mankato campus to raise money for part-time student scholarships.
Premier Bank Scholarship
Made possible by a gift from the Faribault office of Premier Bank for a student in any program area.
SCC Alumni Association Scholarships
These awards are made possible through the fundraising efforts of the SCC Alumni Association. Awards are given to students who themselves or whose immediate family members are alumni of SCC.
SCC Faculty & Staff Scholarships
Faculty & Staff donations to the annual fund drive provide scholarships for students enrolled in any program area.
SCC Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Made possible by a gift from SCC’s Beta Nu Beta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. For a student with a 3.0 or better GPA in any program area.
Bruce Sellner Memorial Endowment Scholarship
Established in 1999 by the family of Bruce Sellner, this endowment provides one scholarship each year for a student in Computer Integrated Machining with recognized technical ability and demonstrated involvement at school.
Clarence R. and Mildred A. Skaar Memorial Scholarships
Made available through a generous donation from the estate of Clarence & Mildred Skaar, scholarships are awarded to students from Dakota, Goodhue, or Rice Counties who demonstrate promise for success in their chosen field, and maintain satisfactory academic progress. These scholarships are renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
South Central Builders Association Scholarships
This membership organization, comprised of area businesses and individuals in the industry, provides two scholarships each year to students entering their second year of the Carpentry-Cabinetmaking program.
Southestern Minnesota Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates Scholarship
This scholarship, for an LPN student, was made possible as a result of a gift from this business with offices in Owatonna, Red Wing, Rochester, Austin and Mankato. This scholarship is renewable for spring semester upon successful completion of fall semester.
Sandra J. Thomas Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship, for an LPN returning to school to become an RN, is made possible by a gift from Sandra Thomas.
State Bank of Faribault Scholarships
The State Bank of Faribault generously provides these scholarships for students who are enrolled in any program area.
